A Call Attention Motion is a special tool used by Members of Parliament to bring attention to an urgent public issue and demand an explanation from the concerned minister.

🧠 Purpose:

To draw the attention of a minister towards a serious matter of public importance.

🏛️ Procedure:

An MP gives notice to the Speaker (Lok Sabha) or Chairman (Rajya Sabha).

If accepted, the minister is required to reply to the issue in the House.

No voting takes place; it’s just to seek accountability.

Let’s say there’s a train accident in Bihar.
An MP can move a Call Attention Motion to ask the Railway Minister to explain:
"What happened? What action is being taken? What steps will prevent this in the future?"
