A Call Attention Motion is a special tool used by Members of Parliament to bring attention to an urgent public issue and demand an explanation from the concerned minister.

ಗಂಭೀರ ದೈನಂದಿನ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಕಡೆ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯುವ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವನೆ

🧠 Purpose:

  • To draw the attention of a minister towards a serious matter of public importance.

  • To get a formal statement from the concerned minister in Parliament.


🏛️ Procedure:

  1. An MP gives notice to the Speaker (Lok Sabha) or Chairman (Rajya Sabha).

  2. If accepted, the minister is required to reply to the issue in the House.

  3. No voting takes place; it’s just to seek accountability.


📝 Example:

Let’s say there’s a train accident in Bihar.
An MP can move a Call Attention Motion to ask the Railway Minister to explain:

"What happened? What action is being taken? What steps will prevent this in the future?"
