Law Commission of India (Simple Explanation) 1. Meaning of Law Commission Law Commission of India is a non-statutory advisory body . It is created by an order of the Central Government for a fixed period (tenure) . Its main work is to recommend changes or improvements in laws . It also helps in consolidation and codification of laws . Example If many old laws exist on the same topic and they are confusing, the Law Commission studies them and suggests making one clear law . Important Point The recommendations of the Law Commission are not binding . The government may accept or reject them .
