Union and its Territory - Articles 1 to 4 under Part-1
Union of States” from Article 1  We are starting with Part I of the Indian Constitution , which is called ‘Union and its Territory’ . This part tells us about three very important things: 1️⃣ What is India? It tells us how India is described in our Constitution. India is made up of many States and Union Territories , but all of them together form one single country – India. 2️⃣ How was India formed? After we got independence in 1947, our country had: Some British provinces , Some princely states , And later, some foreign territories joined us too (like Goa and Sikkim). All these regions were slowly brought together and became part of one strong Union of India . 3️⃣ Can India’s map change? Yes! This part of the Constitution also tells us how: New states can be created, Boundaries can be changed, And even names of states can be changed. For example: In 2014, Telangana was formed from Andhra Pradesh. In 2011, Orissa was renamed to Odisha . All these changes are done by Parliament , and not by the states themselves…
