🏛️ ELECTION OF THE PRESIDENT OF INDIA – COMPLETE PROCEDURE 1️⃣ Nature of Election: Direct or Indirect? The President of India is NOT elected directly by the people . He/she is elected by an Electoral College . This is called an indirect election . 👉 Reason (basic idea): India follows a parliamentary system , where the President is a nominal head , not the real executive.
