🟥 ARTICLE 23-24 – RIGHT AGAINST EXPLOITATION ✅ Title: Prohibition of Traffic in Human Beings and Forced Labour Part of Fundamental Rights (Article 23 of Indian Constitution) Applies to: Citizens + Non-citizens (everyone in India) 🔹 🔸 What does Article 23 say? 🔹 Article 23(1): Bans 3 main things: Traffic in human beings – selling and buying people like objects. Begar – forced work without any payment . Other similar forms of forced labour – like bonded labour or slavery. Any person doing these acts will be punished under law (as per second part of Article 23(1)). 🔹 Article 23(2): Allows State (Government) to impose compulsory service for public purpose , such as: Military duty Community/social service (e.g. during floods, pandemics) But: No one should be selected based only on religion, race, caste, or class.
